Day 7: Wine Country (Part 2)

After checking in to our lovely room (pictures below) we walked about 6 blocks to downtown Napa for dinner....ate a place called ZuZu's. One of our innkeepers recommended it..it was a lively crowd enjoying small plates or tapas...we had some awesome food...eggplant, paella, tortillas + egg; mmmm-mmm. When we got back the front of the inn looked so pretty at night...I just had to take a picture! The inn is a Craftsman style...beautiful windows, floors, porch.
We had a wonderful surprise soon after we checked in! My brother Bob and his wife Erin had ordered (as an anniversary present) an incredible bottle of wine and a cheese + fruit platter from our innkeepers to enjoy in our Inn. OMG...it was soooo lovely after a day of traveling and touring to be able to sit and relax, enjoy some wine, fruit and cheese appetizers before we left for dinner. We had so much fruit and cheese on the platter that we saved the rest for our lunch the next day!

Here is a little tour of our room at the Inn on First...We would highly highly recommend it to anyone planning on heading to the Napa area.
You can see all their rooms here: www.theinnonfirst.com
Every guest gets a split of sparkling wine (in the penguin carafe); homemade chocolate truffles (2 of the innkeepers are both culinary school graduates) and spiced nuts. Delicious coffee too, if you want to make coffee before breakfast is served.
Pretty sink area....
His and her robes and a HUGE shower.....
The view of the street from our window..there's our Beetle!
Cute living area with gas fireplace, 2 comfy chairs....do you think Jim is tired of these pictures? ha ha
Enormous jaccuzi tub.....
And an oh-s0-comfortable bed with a radio, connectors for your iPod, and a noise machine that plays ocean sounds, rainforest, etc. I loved the rainfall sound.
And the breakfasts!!! Unbelievable....poached egg over jasmine rice with homemade naan bread and a delicious sauce....fresh fruit with homemade granola and home made yogurt AND homemade pastries with juice and coffee...and that was just the first day!
Tea, coffe, hot chocolate and homemade cookies available all the time....
Port wine every afternoon in the living room....
You were pampered at every step...
We loved it!
