Our first full day in Buffalo: Day 318

Some shots in our hotel...and a few from our walk around downtown Buffalo this morning..
Here is a picture of this weird globe (roped off) in our Hyatt lobby.....made of glass. Here we are at our first conference session this evening...

View from our hotel room during the afternoon...you can make out Lake Erie on the left.

Off to Buffalo! Day 318

Betsy, Kate and I are now ensconced on the 11th floor of our hotel in Buffalo...we are here for the annual ICEA convention..one that I have not been able to attend in years...we are all very excited to immerse ourselves in birth for the next 4 days!
Here is our view from the hotel...Buffalo is very quiet on weekday evenings..much like Hartford. Looking forward to walking around downtown and actually getting a view of Lake Erie which should be in the picture below but it must be too dark to see....
Hey, Janice...want to come here to visit us on Saturday night?

More signs of fall....Day 317

Got home this morning from dropping Taylor off at school..it was cold...about 33 degrees..but a beautiful fall morning nonetheless. The sun had just come up..and was streaking the sky with pink glow, so I went in to retrieve my camera....came out to hear the quintessential sound of fall...the honking of geese as they fly south. The racket starts in early September and doesn't stop for weeks. It was especially loud this morning though...lots of "V" formations flying overhead. Mikko used to bark as a puppy whenever the geese would honk..now she barely acknowledges them. As much as I hate getting up early...this makes it all so worth it.

Pumpkin Power: Day 315

MMM-mmm...woke up this morning craving comfort food..in fact, went to bed thinking about Pumpkin pancakes...yum. There is something about a chilly fall day that makes you want to start cooking something warm, spicy, and well, orange!

Jim gave them the seal of approval...by eating every bite...and taking second helpings!

Then it was time for pumpkin muffins....
Pumpkin muffins...with WALNUTS...doesn't get any better than that.

Excerpt from A Week in My Life:Day 300

I am working on taking photo's for an album entitled A Week in My Life. Ordinary, everday photo's that tell the story of my life right now. It is a different week than I had 5 years ago, and a different one than what I will have 5 years from now. Two days to go to complete the week.....and then into a simple everyday album. It has been SO much fun looking at my life as I (and my family) go about our daily lives.
