Back Home: Day 133

Have been gone for a while...lots of wonderful things have happened in these last 10 days....

First...this handsome young man graduated from EHS!Then our WHOLE FAMILY drove 8 hours north to our idea of nirvana...Acadia National Park and camped for a week. Lyndsay was able to come with Dan for 3 days before flying back to Orlando. It was heartbreaking to see her go, as we had not seen her for 6 months, and won't see her for 6 more :(

It was wonderful to have all 3 kids with us, even if it was just for a few days.

One more day until....Day 124

One more afternoon until these 2 arrive from Orlando tonight.....I cannot wait to give my girl a hug..it's been 6 LONG MONTHS since I held her in my arms...
One (really one-half) more day until the last day of school for this year..wow...I know I say this every year..but it has flown by! I will miss my work friends, and my little preschoolers, but will not miss alarms going off continuously starting at 5:30 (Taylor) and then Joe's and Jim at 6am, and mine (lazy bones) going off at 6:50am. I will not miss making lunches at 9pm. I will not miss worrying about J+T getting enough sleep because now they will be lazy bones every morning! Woo hoo, summer! We all need the break.
One more day until my son, my 18 year old boy who is now a man, graduates.

I am so proud of who he has become. Woo hoo, Joe!Two more days until we all arrive here...even Lyndsay and Dan! Woo hoo!

Another layout done: Day 121

I started the next digital scrapbooking course today on JessicaSprague.com, but there have been a few glitches with the modem from the company, so things are delayed slightly. I used the time to work on another page from my paper scrapbooking class,
Got Sketch, and here it is!

Father's Day 2008: Day 120

Happy Father's Day, Jim....missing you, my sweet Lyndsay!

After we all were awake, we gave Jim our card and presents....

The kids and I made Dad a scrumptious breakfast...

Which we ate out on the deck....it was cloudy, but warm outside..I think Jim really liked his broccoli, cheese and roasted red pepper omelet! After breakfast we all headed down to TJ Maxx to do a little shopping...Joe has lost 40 lbs, so his clothes were falling off him, poor guy!

The only one who didn't buy anything there was DAD! lol We also hit Kohl's for a couple of things...

When we got home I started prepping for dinner, and soon put these in the oven.... and started washing strawberries for the shortcake.Dabi showed up soon after with a vino present for Jim...And Taylor gave Dad her picture collage/frame she made for his office at work.I think Jim likes his turkey burger...
And Jim finished his Father's Day Celebration with Strawberry Shortcake (with real whipped cream) and Tiger Woods....

We love you, Jim!

An Evening Out: Day 119

Tonight Jim and I headed to Blue Back Square in West Hartford, a new shopping plaza that opened last fall. We had read about this new restaurant that recently opened there, and thought we would try it.....
We had some interesting choices for dinner, but ultimately decided on the Antipasto Meat and Cheese Platter where you got to choose 3 meats and 3 cheeses. The ones we chose are checked...they were SO good..especially because they were served with homemade bread, and 3 condiments...honey with truffles, pineapple compote and blackberry coulis. We also ordered Eggplant Caponata, served with homemade pita bread...to die for...it had pine nuts and red peppers..mmm-mmm.
For our second course we had a fried Calamari appetizer and we shared a baby Arugala salad, which was baby arugala and frissee, served with Chevre, candied pecans and dried/fresh blueberries with a blueberry vinagrette...Also, SO delicious! By this time we were stuffed . I also had a delicious martini to begin and Jim had Italian beer. After dinner we strolled around the shops at Blue Back Square...
We went in here and looked around drooling at everything...... Then into B&N where I bought Jim a book for Father's Day...(and a scrapbooking magazine for me..hee hee)

We took a goofy picture of us under the umbrella while we were walking around....
On our way home we stopped at the Big Y to get a few things for our Father's Day barbecue tomorrow...We are having homemade turkey burgers, roasted potatoes, salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert...yum. All for the best Dad in the world!
