After an amazing breakfast at our very favorite B+B (vanilla yogurt, homemade granola, fresh raspberries + kiwi in these beautiful glass parfait glasses; bacon; scrambled eggs; homemade sour cream pecan waffles) we reluctantly said goodbye to Liz and Michael (that's Liz in picture below) the owners of the Zion Canyon B+B. We had an awesome stay. But....on to the next adventure!
This cute gazebo is on the Canyon Villa grounds...the last night we were there we went in when it was dark and looked up at the MILLIONS and MILLIONS of stars that were visible...a surreal experience. (Especially if you slowly rotate round and round while looking up :)
Off we go! We usually have our top down on the Mustang, but it was a little chilly for that....we usually wait until it's at least 60 degrees to go topless..ha ha.
We headed south to Sedona looking at the incredible scenery along the way...no matter how many amazing rock formations we look at...each one more incredible than the last...we still say..OMG! Look at that one! Then I yell at Jim for taking his eyes off the road...lol.
Beautiful but desolate scenes...and sooooo many homes that are nothing more than shacks or permanent trailers that the Native American population live in...usually in the middle of nowhere...no neighbors...no town.
We finally started heading south (there is only one way into Arizona) and crossed the border into Arizona.
We were also climbing in altitude and were getting colder and colder..we stuck it out with the top down tho..just blasted the heat and wore our coats!
Road trips require snack food when you are driving for hours and hours...thank you Taylor for the gifts of delicious snacks to keep us happy and fed on the way to Arizona....
After almost 5 hrs of driving, we could see the red rocks that characterize the Sedona AZ area.
For the next 2 days our home away from home is at the Canyon Villa B + B, here in Sedona.

We walked around uptown Sedona, and stopped in to the Pink Jeep Tour Company to book an off road Jeep Tour of the Red Rocks for Tuesday afternoon.
Later that evening we had a FABULOUS dinner at this restaurant. Our innkeeper (unbeknownst to us) had called ahead to let them know we were celebrating our anniversary and they had a table reserved for us on the outdoor patio, right by the fireplace...with rose petals strewn about the table :o)
(Oh, and the Prickly Pear Cactus Margueritas were soooo good, too)

Before we went to dinner, we sat on our balcony enjoying a glass of wine and appetizers (the B+B has appetizers out at 5pm for all the guests) and feeling so very lucky that we were here.
Sunset views from our balcony.....yes...the sky was really THAT pink.
