Day 3: Two AMAZING Parks

On Sunday, after an incredible breakfast at our B+B (grapes with amaretto cream+mint; tomato and basil frittata; grilled red potatoes, bacon, french press Starbucks coffee) we headed back to Zion for a hike along the Riverview Trail, which lead to the Narrows River Trail.
Later in the afternoon, we drove to Bryce--a 2 hour ride northeast of Zion (pictures farther down)The Zion hike was awesome.....the pictures below show the dry land hike and then continuing onto the river hike (we brought water shoes which we changed into)

Even tho Jim was smiling, the water was FREEZING!

We walked up until the water was over our knees...you could continue farther, but we were not wearing wet suits...the water level just a bit further goes up to your chest. Just a bit too chilly for us...when the temp was only about 62 and water temp about 45!

When we got back to the car, we immediately headed to Bryce...a 2 hr drive....but WHAT a drive..the views were breathtaking....

Bryce was absolutely unbelievable...you cannot believe the views...pictures just don't do it justice.
It was freezing...with an altitude of 8,000...it was freezing and windy. But we didn't mind...so worth it for what we saw.

We hiked up to that farthest point!

On the way home...we went thru Red Rock State Park....wow.

Twisty, hairpin roads everywhere...our Garmon got confused several times...lol

And finally, a few more pictures of Zion Canyon B+B...we LOVED it...

So much fun to see you pictures! I am reliving parts of our trips out west, and seeing parts that we missed. Funny comment about the GPS! Have a great trip - our Vermont and New Hampshire fall foilage trip was beautiful, and having a camera made it even better.
