A few weeks ago, one of the Mom's of our preschoolers gave Esther, Louise, and I a starter bag of 10 day friendship bread. I lost track of it the first time, and eventually threw it away. Louise gave me more starter and this time I was more diligent and made 2 loaves tonight. Before you bake it, though, you remove 4 cups of batter, and pass that along to more friends. I will definitely bring another bag to Louise as a thank you. The bread is delicious..and you'll definitely make friends if you share some!

Heat is your friend: Day 43
This weird looking thing is my homemade rice sock "square" given to me by my friend Gayle. It usually keeps my feet warm when I go to bed (after a 3 min warm-up in the microwave) instead of subjecting my freezing cold feet on Jim's warm backside (lol).
Today it kept me company all day as I have had this strange pain in my abdomen. It's still there, so we shall see how tonight goes...until then...my friend will help :)

Easter Eggs: Day 36
Today was the day for dyeing eggs...Claire and Anna are here for today and tomorrow, and they took on the job. First they poked holes in the eggs and blew out the insides....(ewww-gross);
Then mixed up the different colors of dye & plunked in the eggs:
Then showed off the finished product....beautiful, colored Easter eggs!

Theatre Night: Day 27
Tonight was opening night for Booby Trap, put on by the Opening Knight Players at EHS. Taylor had a part in the play, and Joe was in the back, manning the sound booth...it was an incredible performance...brought us to tears. Kevin Goldthwaite was the lead, and was fantastic. Taylor was, as usual, extraordinary in her role! The pictures are a little blurry as there was no flash allowed.

Going green in a big way: Day 21
My grocery bags have gone "green" (literally) due to a sudden transformation re bag need. There was an article in the paper today discussing the possible ban on plastic grocery bags. The group in favor of the ban cited the fact that these bags can take 1000 years to biodegrade!
I suddenly realized how environmentally irresponsible I was being, using so many bags and dicscarding them without an afterthought. Later this evening I bought reusable GREEN cloth grocery bags...and they were convenient and inexpensive. I feel very green....in a good way!
PS Poor Jim is feeling very "green" in a bad way...still very sick!
